In the ongoing debate of pay parity in Bollywood, actresses like Taapsee Pannu and Kriti Sanon are raising a greater issue of credit parity. Recently, Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Badla’ released and it is doing a good business at the box office. However, the credit of the film’s success has been conferred to only the male lead.
Similarly, Kriti Sanon delivered the hit ‘Luka Chuppi’ recently which won her wide appreciation. However, owing to the male-dominated society, only the male lead(Kartik Aaryan) of the film was credited with its success.
The actresses have therefore voiced their opinion talking about the unfair system that gives credit to only the male leads despite having an equal if not a more impactful role in the film.
Taapsee recently very politely asked a web portal to give equal credit to the film’s female lead as well and Kriti Sanon too agreed with her.

Even after playing the main protagonists in the film, the industry has been reluctant to give credit to the females. Unless the industry offers equal credit, equal pay parity is unachievable.
However, the actresses are now voicing their opinion on their own by not only offering strong performances in the films but also holding the power to draw the audience to the theatres.
On the work front, Kriti Sanon will be next seen in ‘Arjun Patiala’, ‘Housefull 4’ and ‘Panipat’. Whereas Taapsee is currently busy shooting for ‘Saand Ki Aankh’.
