Actress Payal Ghosh accused Anurag Kashyap of forcing himself on her in an interview with ABN Telugu. She even tweeted about it and asked PM Modi to take action against the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ director. However, Anurag dismissed the allegations in a series of tweets and described them as ‘an attempt to silence’ him.
Taapsee Pannu who worked with Kashyap in ‘Manmarziyaan’ has come forward to support the filmmaker. She shared a picture with Anurag and wrote, “For you, my friend , are the biggest feminist I know. See you on the sets soon of yet another piece of art that shows how powerful and significant women are in the world you create :)”.

She shared the post both on Instagram and Twitter handles and later the actress started trending on Twitter as netizens started slamming her for backing Kashyap. They dug out Taapsee’s old tweet on #MeToo movement. Taapsee is brutally slammed for her ‘hypocrisy’.

One wrote, “Awww @taapsee so good to see you #SmashPatriarchy by ‘celebrating the accused and guilty to begin with’. How did you achieve such exquisite levels of #hypocrisy though? Been taking private tuitions from @sardesairajdeep?”

I don’t like gotcha tweets because sometimes the context is lost and sometimes people evolve.
But this is so blatant and so recent that it is nothing but rank hypocrisy. How does one write something on the left and then go issue certificates like the one on the right?! @taapsee https://t.co/FtMHIL5aes

virtue signalling & hypocrisy:
Taapsee (2018): #MeToo cannot succeed till we stop celebrating accused. It’s an embarrassment that women don’t stand by this movement
Taapsee (2020): Calls Anurag Kashyap “The Biggest Feminist” after he is accused of sexual assault

Isn’t u the actress who starred in PINK?? So called movie for a “cause” & for the girls to speak up against anything wrong..but now u r supporting an accused whose name has come time & again in molestation cases.. that’s the hypocrisy that we need to get rid of from the bollywood

In 2018, in the row of #MeToo movement, Taapsee wrote in one of her tweets, “I don’t think this #Metoo can reach any productive conclusion until we stop celebrating the accused and guilty to begin with. And embarrassment becomes even more when women themselves don’t stand by this movement and rather go against it. It could’ve been you! #NotDone”.
