Taapsee Pannu opens up on working with Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki

Taapsee Pannu is one of the most loved actresses of Bollywood. Taapsee has been a part of many films and delivered phenomenal performances in each of them. The actress is now all set to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in Dunki. In a recent interview, Taapsee opened up about working with SRK and said that King Khan’s journey in the film industry has always felt personal to her.

The actress told PTI, “When you end up getting the opportunity to work with him (Shah Rukh Khan), it becomes the golden opportunity. And combine with the fact that it is going to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani, whose films are classics, it doesn’t get better. I don’t know how will I even ever up it.”

She added, “He comes from Delhi, same place like me, started from sratch. I don’t miss the opportunity to tell him every time that he is someone who we consider very personal. Even before I met him, his journey felt too personal because of how he started and built an empire for himself.”

For the uninitiated, Taapsee previously starred in Shah Rukh’s production Badla. When asked about it, she said, “From there to doing a film with him as a co-star, is really big.”

Shah Rukh Khan announced Dunki in April. The actor had shared a video on Instagram and captioned it, “Dear @hirani.rajkumar sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga.. actually main toh set par hi rehne lagunga! Feeling humbled and excited to finally work with you. Bringing to you all #Dunki in cinemas on 22^nd December 2023.”

Apart from Dunki, SRK will be seen in Pathaan and Jawan. On the other hand, Taapsee will be seen in Shabaash Mithu, a biopic on former Indian skipper Mithali Raj. The film is slated to release on July 15.
