Taapsee Pannu‘s recent venture ‘Naam Shabana’ is all about women empowerment. Through the film and through the promotions, the lady has been promoting the importance of learning self-defence and has been quite successful too. It is surely a need of an hour for every female out there to learn self-defence techniques and Taapsee seems to be the propagator of the same.
Following this, Taapsee has now sent a special letter to the authorities of her school in Delhi, urging them to teach the students, especially girls the importance of self-defence. On the same, the actress quoted, “I think with the given situation we are in it’s important to empower girls from a young age and I feel self-defence as a concept has nothing to do with someone’s sex. One should be strong and should be able to learn how to tackle a situation should it arise where their security is being threatened. I think a change always starts with small steps and for me that was to reach out to my school and request and assist them to begin a course for self defense for students from a young age. The idea isn’t to just let them learn how to combat but also understand the importance of self security and know when to utilize their self defense knowledge.”
Here’s the letter that she wrote.
The result of her letter has been positive. As per reports, the school authorities are looking forward to arrange for Karate classes for the students in the coming vacation. (Also Read: ‘Naam Shabana’ review: Taapsee Pannu strikes the right chord)
