Taapsee Pannu recalls how her friends were concerned when Mathias Boe took her to Dubai for date: Don’t let him sell you to a Sheikh

Taapsee Pannu married her long-time beau, Mathias Boe, in March 2024. The actress has been tight-lipped about her wedding and relationship. Recently, she is promoting her upcoming release Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba where she is opening up about her love life. In an interview, the Dunki star opened up about her relationship with Mathias, their first date, and the initial impression her friends had of Boe.

Taapsee Pannu told Raunaq Rajani on his show Relationshit Advice, “We met around like, say, 10-11 years back and then he proposed to me a year after we met. That was very quick. Yeah, nine years of engagement, none of us changed our minds and we still believe that we can stay together for most of our lives, yeah.” When asked about the craziest thing she has done for love, Taapsee said, “That has been… For the first date, cross-continent or rather cross-country, first date when you don’t know the other person at all, that has been the craziest thing I’ve ever done for anybody. He proposed to me saying that I would like to take you on a date either in Denmark or Dubai. Because these are the two places I know very well. So, I said, who will go to Denmark? Schengen visa, oh my God.”

She further asserts how her friends were concerned about her dating someone from another culture. Taapsee also shares how they felt Boe would sell her to a Sheikh. She shares, “My friends were like, “You take care of yourself.” Don’t let him sell you. I’m not kidding. My friends actually gave me… My best friend’s sister stays in Dubai. So, she gave me her number and I don’t know, if he’s selling me to a Sheikh, she won’t be able to stop the deal, right? He turned out to be a good guy. That’s why 10-11 years passed. I’m sure I would still want to stay with him”.

Taapsee and Mathias have been together for the last 10 years now. Their love story began when they met at the inaugural Indian Badminton League in 2013. While the couple have made it public, that they are dating – via social media posts, they have refrained from shedding too much spotlight on it. They secretly got married in March. However, the two are yet to share a glimpse of their special day.

On the professional front, Taapsee will be next seen in Khel Khel Mein, directed by Mudassar Aziz. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Ammy Virk, Pragya Jaiswal and Fardeen Khan. Khel Khel Mein is set to release on September 6, 2024. Talking about Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, directed by Jayprad Desai, it features Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal and released on Netflix on August 9, 2024.
