Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar are currently busy shooting for ‘Saand Ki Aankh’. Both the actresses are playing sister-in-laws Chandra Tomar and Prakashi Tomar, the world’s oldest sharpshooters. This is their first movie where they are playing aged women on-screen. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the ‘Badla’ actor opened up about the challenges she faced during the shoot and how she brought her character alive on screen.
In the movie, Taapsee will be seen riding a tractor and sharing her experience, she said, “I had always sat next to the driver and never driven one, had no reason to learn. But it’s a visually fascinating machine and you feel like you’re riding a huge beast. It isn’t as difficult as everyone assumes.”
While talking about her role of an older woman, the actress said, “I have never wondered what I would like at 65 and to look into the mirror and see someone double my age staring back at me, is quite a surprise.”
It was quite challenging for Taapsee to wear a rubber coating on the face for 12 hours a day but she loves challenges and knows how to get into the skin of a character. “In an industry where people prefer playing half their age, I chose to play someone older than my mother. I genuinely believe that whenever I have been pushed myself out of my comfort zone, I have delivered something good. ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ is the biggest gamble of my career until now and I can’t wait to see how the audience reacts to it,” added Taapsee.
