Actor Taapsee Pannu is all set to essay the role of the former captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket team, Mithali Raj in her biopic, Shabaash Mithu. To get into the skin of the character, Taapsee went under rigorous training and ensured to ace the look with utmost finesse. In November, the actress announced that she has wrapped up the shoot of the film and now, we have learned the Shabaash Mithu release date. Meet Taapsee Pannu in and as Shabaash Mithu on February 4, 2022.

Taapsee Pannu’s Shabaash Mithu release date is February 4 in the theatres. While wrapping up the film, Taapsee had shared a picture on her Instagram along with her teammates and captioned it with, “8 ki thi jab kisi ne ek Sapna dikhaya tha, ki ek din ayega jab Cricket sirf gentleman’s game nahi hoga. Meanwhile, back in June, Rahul Dholakia who was directing the film had to leave midway owing to some changes in his schedules amidst the pandemic. In his official statement, he mentioned that “Covid messed up everyone’s schedules, mine was no different”. The film is now being directed by Multiple National Award-Winning Director Srijit Mukherji.

Mukherji who is known for directing cinematic masterpieces such as Jaatishwar, Chotushkone, Ek Je Chhilo Raja, Gumnami, Forget Me Not and Bahrupiya, Netflix web series Ray spoke about directing Shabaash Mithu, “Being a cricket buff and researcher, Mithali’s tale has always been an inspiration to me. I was excited since I had first heard of this film being made and now that I am a part of it I look forward to kickstarting the journey to bring this exhilarating story to the silver screen soon.
