Taapsee Pannu unveils new poster of Shabaash Mithu on the occasion of Women’s Day

On the occasion of Internation Women’s Day, Taapsee Pannu unveiled the new poster of her upcoming new movie Shabaash Mithu and it has left fans super excited. In the poster, Taapsee is seen wearing the iconic blue jersey of India with the name Mithali written on it. She had a bat in one hand and a helmet in another.

Sharing the poster on her Instagram account, Taapsee wrote in the caption, “She continues to inspire millions like me. To break a few stereotypes to lay down a new path ahead for many to follow. This Women’s Day I am cheering for the front runners in the fight to #BreakTheBias(sic)”

Fans got even more excited after the poster was out and took to the comments to express their enthusiasm, they read, “Waiting for one more hit?❤️”, “Can’t wait for it???”, “This women’s day I am cheering ??”, “Waiting for that??.”

Talking about Mithali Raj’s reaction to the Shabaash Mithu poster, Taapsee had earlier said in an interview with Mid-Day, “We want to make it as convincing as possible, but it’s not as important to look like her as it is to perform and behave like her. I was constantly in touch with her while shooting for the poster. She texted me yesterday saying that there’s barely any difference between her and me [in the poster]. That validation matters a lot. I want her to say this after watching the movie, too.”

Talking about why she was offered Shabaash Mithu, Taapsee said, “I was roped in because Mithali and I have similar life approach and ideologies. We don’t want to replicate the look to the tee.” The film is directed by Rahul Dholakia and written by Priya Aven.
