The director Tahira Kashyap, Ayushmann Khurranna’s wife, was diagnosed with Stage Zero cancer a few years ago.
The irony is that when Tahira was battling her cancer, her husband’s career had been on its peak with hits such as Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho.
In 2018, Ayushmann was one of the most successful actors but to many Tahira had been the real star. From posting pictures of her bald head to showing her scars, her posts have carried messages of hope for many women who go through breast cancer silently to avoid embarrassment. Her whole journey was very inspiring and set an example for many. Her story has given hope to other breast cancer patients.
Today on World Cancer Day, Tahira penned down her thoughts on the deadly disease. She posted a video of her reciting a poem on World Cancer Day on her IG feed. Spreading hope to people with her battle against cancer, Tahira captioned her post “World Cancer Day. This is something I had experienced and written about and still mean every word of it! Joining this year’s theme of I AM AND I WILL, I urge you all to take notice of this day, to spread awareness about early breast cancer detection, to remove any stigma associated with it and to celebrate life along with its many scars.”

Ayushmann shared Tahira’s poem on his social media and wrote, “Proud of you!” Ayushmann and Tahira both are such good examples for others because they have been so supportive of each other. The couple also has two wonderful kids. Ayushmann is currently shooting for director Anubhav Sinha’s Anek.
