One can’t forget the incident when Saif Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar took at dig at Kangana Ranaut for her statement on nepotism. Even though the actors apologised for the same later on, the debate over nepotism just doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. Recently, actor Saif Ali Khan who was promoting his forthcoming flick ‘Chef’ addressed the issue again and stated that he is against nepotism and believes that it just leads to mediocrity.

Said Saif, “There are a lot of things that get overhyped, but I think a lot of people feel very strongly about things like this (nepotism). They are privileged people and life can be very unfair to them. So, it’s good to discuss this. For the record, whatever jokes were made (on the award show), I have already explained my side. I am very against nepotism and I think it leads to a lot of mediocrity. But, I still don’t understand whether star children fell under nepotism or whether the talent is somewhere the key. But, definitely being a star kid gets you in the door easily. Then again it depends when people will put their money on you, then you must get it back. The bottom line is — talent is good, nepotism is bad.” (Also Read: Saif Ali Khan explains the real reason behind delay of ‘Kaalakaandi’)

This entire debate kickstarted when Kangana Ranaut called Karan Johar as “the flagbearer of nepotism” on his talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’. It snowballed into a controversy with every celeb talking about it. Then, Karan Johar with along with Saif and Varun took a dig at Kangana at the IIFA Awards which were held in July by saying that “nepotism rocks”. The trio then apologised for the same. Now, Saif has spoken about nepotism again and that leaves us thinking as to when the debate will come to a stop.
