Did you know why Tamannaah Bhatia broke her no-kissing policy with Vijay Varma for Lust Stories 2?

Tamannaah Bhatia has been in the news recently quite a lot for multiple reasons. While she has 2 exciting projects releasing in June, she has also been hitting headlines for her relationship with Vijay Varma. Ever since the start of her career, the actress has refrained from getting physically intimate on screen. But with her upcoming film, Lust Stories 2, she broke that rule and she explained why.

Tamannaah on breaking her ‘no-kiss policy’

In the anthology Lust Stories 2, Tamannaah Bhatia is seen romancing her real life boyfriend Vijay Varma in Sujoy Ghosh’s story. They even have a kissing scene in the film. Explaining why she broke her no-kiss policy for this film, the actress told Film Companion, “I really wanted to work with Sujoy and I’m really happy that he thought of me for this part especially because I have done literally no intimacy in my career or very little intimacy in my career. I was that audience that would get awkward and I was that audience that was like ‘main ye kabhi nahi karungi, main kabhi nahi kiss karungi on screen (I will never do this, I will never kiss onscreen).’ I was that person, for me it was an evolution to get out of that framework.”

She further insisted that it wasn’t for fame or getting the limelight. The actress shared, “India is vast and so many parts are yet to evolve. A lot of evolution has happened, but a lot more is left. I did not want this to sort of hold me back. It was purely for creativity. Not like I am trying to be famous after 18 years (in showbiz). Not my endeavor.”

Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Varma relationship

Tamannaah recently confirmed dating her Lust Stories 2 co-star Vijay. The rumours of them dating had been doing rounds for a while but she made it official. She revealed that it all started ‘organically’ on the sets of the film itself. The actress even referred to Vijay as her ‘happy place’ as they both give each other space to grow personally and professionally.

Before Lust Stories 2 releases on Netflix, Tamannaah had the release of her show Jee Karda on June 15. The show is a drama about 7 childhood friends and how they figure out their lives as they turn 30. It also features Aashim Gulati, Suhail Nayyar, Anya Singh and others. As for Lust Stories 2, the anthology has Sujoy, Amit Sharma, R Balki and Konkona Sensharma as directors. It features Neena Gupta, Kajol, Mrunal Thakur, Angad Bedi, Tamannaah and Vijay.
