Tamannaah Bhatia is here to break stereotypes in the trailer of Babli Bouncer

While in down South, Tamannaah Bhatia is a superstar with an illustrious filmography to her credit, in Hindi films, she is slowly and steadily finding her footing. So, when it was announced that the actress is teaming up with filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who has given career-defining films like Fashion and Page 3, for a story of a female bouncer, expectations were that it will be a game-changer for her. Today, the trailer of Babli Bouncer was released, and after seeing it, one thing is for sure that it will surely pave a new path for the actress, giving her a chance to showcase another side of her.

The trailer opens in the village of Fatehpur Beri, which has come to be known as the village of bouncers. While that is a field almost completely dominated by men, here comes Babli, played by Tamannaah Bhatia, who wants to become a lady bouncer. She is shown as a girl who isn’t much concerned about her appearance and the skills expected of a girl, but her main focus is to build a body fit to be a bouncer and then go to Delhi and work there. There is also a romantic track between Tamannaah and actor Abhishek Bajaj in the midst. How Babli’s life changes when she goes to Delhi to work as a female bouncer and beats up guys to honour her job, sure does make for an exciting story.

The role of Babli demanded Tamannaah to work on her physically and the actress put her all into it, which is visible in the trailer. She has got the demeanour of a bouncer right while her mannerisms also are on point. There is an innocence still in her and the accent she has attempted also seems well-rehearsed. As for Abhishek, it marks his first leading role in films and having seen him in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui last, there are high hopes from him to make great use of this opportunity. Madhur Bhandarkar has previously gave the game-changing Fashion to Priyanka Chopra, which even bagged her a National Award, and hopefully this film will do similar wonders for Tamannaah as well.

Babli Bouncer also features Saurabh Shukla and Sahil Vaid in pivotal roles, and is produced by Star Studios and Junglee Pictures. The film starts streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from September 23.
