Tanishaa Mukerji is the younger sister of actress Kajol and daughter of veteran actress Tanuja. She made her debut in Bollywood in 2003 Sssshhh opposite Dino Morea and Karan Nath. Post that she appeared in movies like Neal ‘n’ Nikki, Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao, Tango Charlie, One Two Three, and Sarkar among others. Like her sister Kajol, Tanishaa couldn’t make it that big in the industry. She has been subjected to comparisons with her sister that are often brutal. Recently, in an interview, Tanishaa opened up about it and called it “funny”.
She told Bollywood Hungama, “She (Kajol) has a different journey. We don’t compare each other like we don’t compare ourselves to each other because we are so different. I think the comparison has been in the mind of the public. When you are a newcomer with privilege, they don’t get a chance to make too many mistakes. They don’t get a chance to learn on the job.”
The actress was also asked if having a successful mother and a sister puts pressure. “If you have a successful mother you have a very easy life. You’re already at a level of privilege that a lot of other people are not at and then on top ofthat when you add a successful sister and a successful family to that, you come from so much privilege that tough idea is just like an idea..it’s a mindset. If you want to buy into that mindset, yes your life can be very difficult,” said the ex Bigg Boss contestant.

She also further said that one should have a strong sense of self. She said she didn’t make it because she didn’t have that and was a little more insecure.
