Tanishaa Mukerji reveals sister Kajol did not watch Neal ‘n’ Nikki as ‘it was too much kissing on-screen’

Tanishaa Mukerji is currently winning hearts with her dance performances on the popular reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. When it comes to films, she made her acting debut with the film Sssshhh. She later appeared in films like Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, Neel ‘n’ Nikki, and Unnale Unnale among others. In a recent interview, Tanishaa opened up about her 2005 movie Neal ‘n’ Nikki. Interestingly, Tanishaa Mukerji revealed sister Kajol has not watched the movie yet.

In conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Tanishaa said, “It was too much kissing on-screen. My sister has not watched the film until today. Even I tell my friend’s kids to watch it after growing up a little bit. That conservativeness exits in our country.” Neal ‘n’ Nikki was directed by Arjun Sablok and it also starred Uday Chopra. The story revolved around a young woman attempting to reconcile with her ex-boyfriend only to break up with him again.

When asked if she was comfortable doing intimate scenes for the film, Tanishaa stated that it was easier since they were dating during the shoot. For the uninitiated, Tanishaa and Uday fiisrt met on the sets of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge which starred Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan. Tanishaa visited the DDLJ sets with her sister, and Uday was assisting his brother, director Aditya Chopra.

Furthermore, she acknowledged that if offered a similar film on today’s time, she would approach it differently. Reflecting on her past role, Tanishaa said, “You are influencing young minds. At that time, I didn’t get involved in it enough.”

Tanisha’s last film was Sarkar Raj. Talking about Kajol, she last delivered a terrific performance in the web series Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha. The actress will be next seen in Do Patti along with Kriti Sanon. Do Patti will release on Netflix.
