Veteran actress Tanuja finds the world of filmmaking more professional in current times.
“Nowadays, a film is made in a different way. We never did any rehearsals or workshops before shooting. In our time, directors used to come on set late, they seemed relaxed while working. It was not as professional as it is today. I’m very happy to see that the entire process is being done so professionally,” Tanuja said here.
Tanuja finds it a “good idea” to hold workshops to get a cast together.
“It looks like a team effort and not just that a producer or director is making the film. So, I am very pleased to watch this (change),” the 72-year-old actress added.
Tanuja, the mother of actresses Kajol and Tanisha, spoke at the launch of Honey Trehan and movie producer Abhishek Chaubey’s production company MacGuffin Pictures, which is backing “A Death in the Gunj”.
The new film is the directorial debut of actress Konkona Sen Sharma, and Tanuja essays a role in it.
An admirer of Konkona’s work as an actress, Tanuja said: “I think she is a brilliant actress and I know she is going to make a brilliant film. I have been in this industry for a long time and I have heard a lot of scripts. She is the only director who narrated the script to me and I have closed my eyes and been able to visualise the entire film. God bless her.”
“A Death in the Gunj” will go on floors on January 25. It has an exciting cast of actors like Vikrant Massey, Kalki Koechlin, Gulshan Devaiah, Om Puri and Tillotama Shome, as well as Konkona’s estranged husband Ranvir Shorey.
