Actress Tanushree Dutta recently sent a shock wave in Bollywood with her allegations of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar on the sets of the 2008 film ‘Horn OK Pleassss’. The ‘Dhol’ actress soon received support from a number of Bollywood celebrities such as Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Freida Pinto, Simi Garewal, Pooja Bhatt and more, with many still remaining quiet on the issue.
Recently veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, was asked about the controversy, and he laughed the matter off, stating that the incident took place 10 years ago and he was a kid back then.
In an interview to ANI, Shakti Kapoor said, “I have just returned from the US yesterday, I had been there for Ganpati Bappa’s pooja. I don’t know anything about this case.”
When he was informed about the case he laughed off the issue by saying, “This was ten years back, I was a kid back then.”
Nana Patekar has served a legal notice asking Tanushree to publicly apologise for her ‘slanderous and defamatory’ interview. On the other hand, Women and child development minister Maneka Gandhi too has stepped forward in support of the actress and says it does not matter when the victim comes out. She also stressed the need to have a #MeTooIndia movement in India to encourage women to come forward and report.
We shall keep you updated with more on this soon.
