Indian film celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit mourned the death of Hollywood actor Leonard Nimoy, popular for his portrayal of extraterrestrial Mr. Spock in the sci-fi TV series and movie saga “Star Trek”.
Expressions like “You leave behind a void” and “Thank you for entertaining us” flooded the social media as celebrities took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share their condolence message for Nimoy, who died Friday at his home in Bel Air, Los Angeles.
He died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 83, and became an icon courtesy the character Mr. Spock, who comes from planet Vulcan, is hugely intelligent, and impeccably logical, but out of his orbit when it came to being sociable.
