‘Thappad’ song ‘Ek Tukda Dhoop’: Taapsee Pannu’s journey after the slap is heart-wrenching

The makers of ‘Thappad’ have released its first song ‘Ek Tukda Dhoop’ from the upcoming film. The song shows the marriage of Amu (Taapsee) and her husband that is falling apart after Amu gets slapped by her husband in front of everyone at a party.

The song shows the sweet and romantic moments of Taapsee and Pavail Gulati when they were happily married. Everything then changes after a slap. Though Pavail tries to convince Taapsee with gifts, she remains stern. In the song, it is obvious that frustrated Taapsee is trying hard to move out of her marriage. The beautiful song is crooned by Raghav Chaitanya. Music is given by Anurag Saikia and lyrics are penned by Shakeel Azmi.

Taapsee had recently shared a BTS picture from the film along with a heartfelt post where she wrote about her character Amrita. “Amrita …As an actor, some characters set you free and some suffocate you. This was the latter for me… her righteousness, her maturity to handle every situation, determination deep inside and an infectious calmness on the outside…. she made me grow up,” she captioned it.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the movie is slated to hit the screens on February 28.
