The Archies trailer: Shah Rukh Khan is all praise for daughter Suhana Khan’s debut movie

Zoya Akhtar directed The Archies has to be one of the most awaited releases of the year. The movie features 7 fresh faces including Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor. And amidst much excitement, The Archies trailer was released on Thursday and it got a lot of appreciation, including that of Shah Rukh Khan.

Suhana Khan makes her movie debut with The Archies, and being a proud father, SRK has been a true cheerleader for her. From sharing and promoting every asset of the film, King Khan is leaving no stone unturned to support his daughter. And as the trailer was released, he took on to social media to praise captain of the ship, Zoya.

Sharing the trailer on his Instagram feed, SRK wrote, “A contemporary subject with timeless characters #TheArchies… thrown into a world that is very fable like. Zoya has created such an innocent and pristine quality to the film….maybe just like our world could be with a more responsible outlook towards the environment. All the best to the entire team involved with this sweet and meaningful fun film!” Overwhelmed with her dad’s support, Suhana wrote back, “love you,” with hearts and kisses emojis.

Arjun Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan praise The Archies trailer

Not just SRK, but even Gauri Khan took to social media to praise the film’s trailer. She wrote, “Such a beautiful world… fun characters with a very touching tale to tell. Thank u Zoya… and all the best to #TheArchies family.”

The Archies also marks the debut of Khushi Kapoor. Even her family came out to support her and be her cheerleader. Her sister Janhvi Kapoor wrote, “The world of Archies! It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before, it’s sunshine, it’s fun, and it’s all heart. and it’s my sisters big puppy dog eyes making me want to pin her to the ground and give her 1000 cuddles and 5000 kissies.”

Even Arjun Kapoor penned a sweet note for his sister. Tagging Khushi, he said, “you have no idea mujhe kitni khushi hui looking at this trailer!! It’s finally here and just looking like a WOW!!” He also expressed excitement to see the other cast members and called Zoya a ‘genius’.

Agastya Nanda, who debuts as the eponymous character Archie Andrews in the movie, also got love from his family. His mother Shweta Bachchan shared the trailer writing, “28 days till you rock n’ roll with The Archies.” Agastya’s sister Navya Naveli Nanda also shared the trailer with the debutante’s dialogue in it, “Let the games BEGIN.”

A heartfelt note for Agastya also came from uncle Abhishek Bachchan, who was beaming with pride. He wrote, “Agastya, I’m so, so proud of you. From jumping on my bed as a kid playing the air guitar to jumping out of the screen with a real one….. the journey has just begun. Play hard!”

The Archies release date

Zoya Akhtar’s musical The Archies features Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Dot and Yuvraj Menda. It is set in the fictional town of Riverdale with the characters based on the comic book series by the same name. The film will have a direct-to-OTT release. The Archies will start streaming on Netflix from December 7, 2023.
