2017, so far, has been a year of average box office show for Bollywood films, barring a few. The multilingual ‘Baahubali 2’ swept off almost all records. It was followed by the multi-starrer ‘Golmaal Again’, which went on to become a blokbuster. A number of relatively small films including ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ have also done well. But at the same time, handful of big budget films turned out disappointing.
The year ends with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, the most touted release. But just in the first half of 2018, we’ve a grand clash awaiting us!
‘Baaghi 2’, the sequel to Tiger Shroff’s ‘Baaghi’ is set to hit screens on 27th April. On the same day, Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ releases as well. (Also Read: Kangana Ranaut turns the perfect host for ‘Manikarnika’ director on his birthday!)
On one hand, there’s the magic of Tiger and his breathtaking action. The film is definitely going to cater to the right audience. On the other hand, there’s Kangana, the majestic performer who can easily carry an entire film on her shoulder.
However, what makes it more interesting is the entry of Hollywood superhero flick ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. Of late, a number of Hollywood films including ‘Logan’, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and ‘Justice League’ have minted good money in the Indian market.
To add to that, ‘Avengers’ has been one of the most popula superhero franchise of Hollywood. This makes us wonder whether it is going to have a raher adverse impact on the two Bollywood releases.
Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha’s ‘Ittefaq’, although it clashed with ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, managed to fare decently at the box office.
Here’s hoping ‘Baaghi 2’ and ‘Maniarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ have a good play as well!
