After veteran actress Shabana Azmi, filmmaker Ramesh Sippy is all set to interact with host Arbaaz Khan on his talk show, The Invincibles season 2. The season’s second episode is all set to premiere tomorrow and will see the director-actor-producer get candid about many things, including his journey as a filmmaker. The filmmaker opens up about his biggest hit – Sholay, the actor he envisioned as its pivotal cast member, the film’s budget, its success and more.
Ramesh Sippy also gets candid about collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan, and screen-writer duo Javed-Salim (Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan). Sippy Saab also talks at length about his other films like Seeta Aur Geeta, Majboor and Shakti. He also talks about working on television, his passion for storytelling and dealing with failures. The filmmaker also gets candid about the different casting coups he wanted in his movies over the years.

About Ramesh Sippy
Ramesh Sippy is known for directing some much-loved films including Andaz, Seeta aur Geeta, Sholay, Shaan, Shakti, Zamana Deewana and more. Aside from direction, the 77-year-old filmmaker has also produced a number of films such as Bluffmaster!, Kuch Naa Kaho, Taxi No. 9211, Chandni Chowk to China, Dum Maaro Dum and Nautanki Saala. He was also seen in a guest appearance role in his 2020 film Shimla Mirchi.
Aside from winning the Filmfare Awards’ Best Film of 50 Years for Sholay in 2005, Sippy is also the recipient of the Padma Shri. He was conferred this honour by the Government of India in 2013. He was also honoured with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
