The new poster of Akshay-Bhumi’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ gets you ready for Swachch Azaadi

This morning, Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and shared the very first poster of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ featuring himself and Bhumi Pednekar. The poster has them dressed as bride and groom; and gives away a certain kind of quirk!

“Pleased to share, @ToiletTheFilm an unusual love story will be with you on 11th Aug, 2017. Tayyar ho jayye Swachch Azaadi ke liye,” [sic] the actor wrote.

With (unofficial) references to PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachch Bharat’ campaign, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is a satirical comic take on the unhygienic practices in rural parts of India. (Also Read: Is Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Crack’ inspired by Michael Douglas’ ‘Falling Down’?)

Bhumi, who was not seen on the big screen after her debut stint ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’, says this is almost her second launch.

The film is set to lock horns with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s yet untitled project helmed by Imtiaz Ali. The box office analysts have various things to predict. However, we will have to wait till August 11 and find out who emerges victorious!
