After a gap of almost three years, actor Sanjay Dutt will be making his big screen comeback with ‘Bhoomi’. Not just this movie, but Dutt is also in talks with people for some other projects. Recently, the actor was quite often spotted visiting veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s office. There were rumours that a sequel is being planned of their 1991 released film ‘Sadak’ which starred Sanjay opposite actress Pooja Bhatt. But, finally there’s good news for all the fans of the macho actor out there. Pooja Bhatt has confirmed that the sequel to ‘Sadak’ is in the writing stage.
Talking about it to a leading daily, the actress-filmmaker has said, “Besides enjoying each other’s candidness, we are exploring the possibilities of a sequel to ‘Sadak’. One thing we are all clear about though — that we won’t attempt it until we believe we can live up to the first… ‘Sadak’ is a classic and a favourite of millions of people. If we revisit the film, we need to be sure why. But just being in the same room together takes us back to such a precious time from all of our lives.” [sic] (Also Check: Spotted: Sanjay Dutt shoots for ‘Bhoomi’ in suburban Mumbai)
“It’s too early to speak about the script and casting. All I can say is that Bhattsaab is writing the sequel and has to be the creative backbone with regards to the storytelling,” added Pooja. [sic]
Further, Pooja Bhatt also spoke om whether her sister and actress Alia Bhatt would be cast in the film. She said, “There is no buzz in that buzz, unfortunately!” [sic] Reports suggested that she is going to play the daughter of Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt’s character from the first part.
Reportedly, it has been also heard that filmmaker Srijit Mukherji will be directing this sequel which will be his second film in Bollywood after his critically acclaimed debut venture (in Hindi) ‘Begum Jaan’ with actress Vidya Balan.
