“The story of Wazir demanded stars”: Bejoy Nambiar

Director Bejoy Nambiar’s upcoming action thriller ‘Wazir’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar & Aditi Rao Hydari has been all over the headlines for since quite a few days. The film revolves around the story of an unusual friendship between a paralysed chess player and an ATS officer who come across each other rather unexpectedly. Apart from the story itself, the star-cast of the film is another aspect which grabs our attention.

Planning a script with blazing star-cast is no new in Bollywood. In fact, this is a known method of pulling the audience into theatres. However, for Nambiar, scripts always come first and he believes in casting actors as per the requirement of the story.

“The subject demanded stars so we already had Mr. Bachchan in our mind and Farhan (Akhtar) was in the top of the list. It was not that we will get stars, it’s just that the story demanded it”- he said, in this context.

Those who’ve watched previous works by Nambiar already know that his castings are extremely powerful as well as apt. With this, we hope ‘Wazir’ to be another super-success.
