‘The Tashkent Files’ trailer: Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Tripathi starrer investigates former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death

Bollywood as an industry has come leaps and bounds and it is now making a concentrated effort towards making hard-hitting and realistic cinema. Now, the trailer of ‘The Tashkent Files’ is out and it is really intriguing. And will make you question quite a few things regarding former Indian PM Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death.

‘The Tashkent Files’ revolves around the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of the late Prime Minister’s death, where nothing was done and the reason for his demise till date is standing and unsolved. The trailer is very slick and all the actors have done a marvelous job.

‘The Tashkent Files’ stars Naseeruddin Shah as PKR Natrajan , Pallavi Joshi as Aiysha Ali Shah, Pankaj Tripathi as Gangaram Jha, Shweta Basu Prasad as Raagini Phule, Mithun Chakraborty as Shyam Sundar Tripathi, Vinay Pathak, Mandira Bedi, Ankur Rathee and Prakash Belawadi.

The director of the film Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri told PTI, “On January 10, 1966, Shastri had signed the Tashkent Agreement and hours later he died. A death mystery unsolved to date. Was it a heart attack or poison? The truth of the biggest coverup has been denied to his family and us.”

‘The Tashkent Files’s is being helmed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and it is scheduled to hit theatres on April 12, 2019.
