The Vaccine War trailer: Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial will make you rethink the Covid pandemic with a new lens

The success of The Kashmir Files in 2022 proved to be a case study for Hindi cinema. Even with a not so big cast and budget, the film emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year just because of its subject. Now, director Vivek Agnihotri is bringing another gripping story with The Vaccine War and its trailer will make you rethink things.

The trailer gives a glimpse into how Indian medical professionals were undermined during the time. The film boasts of an ensemble cast with experienced talents like Pallavi Joshi, Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher and Raima Sen. Pallavi, who recently won a National Award for The Kashmir Files, has a magnetic presence on screen. Her body language, her aura and her eyes speaks volumes. Her experience of acting shows in her portrayal.

Nana Patekar as the head of the medical team exhibits the challenges of his position with aplomb. You can feel his grit and determination along with his helplessness at the same time. His conversation with Kher’s character towards the end of the trailer is gripping. Its full version in the film will be one to look out for.

It’s great to see Raima Sen back on Hindi screens. The actress represents Indian media in the film, and from what one can gauge from the trailer, she will have some grey shades. During the pandemic, a lot was written and spoken about how the medical professionals and government handled the situation. And what is known of Vivek, he wouldn’t mince things up in showing that on screen.
