THIS ACTOR to play Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Ekta Kapoor’s web-series

After Y-films’ successful web-series like ‘It’s A Man’s World’ and ‘Bang Baaja Baarat’, now even producer Ekta Kapoor has started venturing into the digital space and will soon be coming up with another web-series. It is touted to be based on the life of one of the most enigmatic freedom fighters of India, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

Actor Rajkummar Rao will be playing the central character in the web-series, which will be launched on Ekta’s digital app, ALT Balaji. Rajkummar is super excited for the same and said, “Though I’m currently busy with the shoot of my film ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ in Lucknow, I’ve already started reading books on Netaji and pouring over content available on the net. Our writers have also done a lot of research so there’s a lot of source material there as well. Once I complete this film I’m going to give my blood and soul to get under the skin of Bose.”

The shooting for the same will start next year and  the actor has to play the life of the national hero from 14 years to 45-48 years. Just like many of us, Rajkummar too has always read Netaji’s quote “Tum mujhe khoon do main tumhe azaadi doonga” in school. Rajkummar said, “I would pass the statue every day on my way to school and mull over that line. The fascinating part is that we have read so much about him but we still don’t know much about his life. Most of us are unaware of his journey.”

Balaji ALT is on the verge of coming up with a number of shows for its digital channel, including ‘Romil and Jugal’, ‘Kehte Hai Opposites Attract’ and one on a female Devdas directed by Ken Ghosh.
