Shakun Batra’s ‘Kapoor & Sons‘ has opened at the box office with a decent beginning. Pakistani actor Fawad Khan who made his Bollywood debut with ‘Khoobsurat’ opposite Sonam Kapoor, has already stolen a million hearts and didn’t fail to impress us in this one as well. However, here’s something crucial. Fawad’s character in the film hasn’t gone down too well with people in Pakistan. Here’s why…
In the emotional family drama, Fawad’s character turns out to be a homosexual at the end. The climax is quite unexpected as the entire film gives no such hint. In a conversation with Bollywood Life, a viewer from Pakistan revealed how the audience there reacted to Fawad’s role.
“Audience was laughing a lot. It’s good but at one point there was too much family drama. A fan said something like he should not be shown as gay. But mostly it was fun for public. Just because of Fawad Khan, everyone will watch the film at least once. There were huge number of ladies and families at the theatre watching this film as compared to other movies,” he said.
He further added that his fans might not be too happy to find him portraying a homosexual’s character.
We really hope this doesn’t give birth to any form outrage and the film is enjoyed there by the viewers!
