Emraan Hashmi was recently seen in Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Emraan essayed the role of a menacing villain with the name Aatish Rehman. Tiger 3 is directed by Maneesh Sharma and is running successfully in the cinemas. Though Salman and Katrina shine bright in the movie, Emraan Hashmi steals the limelight with his intense looks and gritty character. It is after a long time that Emraan was seen as a villain. Now he has opened up about the tag of ‘serial kisser’ which has been attached to him for a very long time.
Emraan Hashmi opens up about the tag of ‘serial kisser’
In an interview with Indian Express, Emraan Hashmi revealed that he benefitted from the tag of a serial kisser for a very long time. And now, he wants to move on from it. Not only this, he also revealed that he gave this tag to himself as a joke but it has been attached to him now.
He called the ‘serial kisser’ tag an absurd name and said, “Then lies an eternal trap for all actors where if you are playing a commercial lead, you will be trapped by a certain archetype of a character or a hero. And here it was this, whatever you call it (serial kisser), it was an absurd name. It was actually given to myself as a joke but stuck with people for some reason. It stuck with the journalists and the audience and it’s not like I didn’t benefit from it. Films were doing really well at the box office.”
Emraan on ‘moving on’ from the tag
Further, he also added, “At one point I felt that it had played its part and I was ready to move on before it was rejected badly. You can’t serve the same dish to people time and again. You have to do something different.” He added that moving on from it was very important to him.
Emraan Hashmi marked his Bollywood debut in the 2003 released movie Footpath. After this, he was seen with Mallika Sherawat in Murder in 2004. Post this, Emraan Hashmi was also seen in movies like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Raaz 3, and many more. These movies were mostly encashed on the ‘serial kisser’ tag of Emraan.
However, Emraan Hashmi recently starred as the villain in Tiger 3 which changed the game for him. The audience loved his cold character and appreciated him. Not only the audience are loving Tiger 3, but it is also ruling at the box office.
