Toilet Ek Prem Katha motion poster

The makers of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha‘ have unveiled a new motion poster which depicts the funda for a successful marriage. The poster says, “Biwi Pass Chahiye, Toh Ghar Mein Sandaas Chahiye’ which means in English that if you want your wife happy and near you, then make sure your house has a toilet. The makers have shared it on Twitter with the caption, “Successful marriage funda 101.”

The story revolves around the story of a village wherein there are no toilets in the house and men and women have to go to a farm to relieve themselves. The conditions in such rural areas are worse for women who have to go to fields far off from their homes, a process which is as humiliating as it is dangerous and one of the reasons for high volume of crimes against them.

It is in this village, that there is a man named Keshav, played by Akshay Kumar, who gets married to an educated and independent girl Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar). They get married, but Jaya soon realises that it’s a tough road for survival. The women have to engage in a ‘lota’ party, in the wee hours of the morning, as there are no toilets inside their homes. This creates differences between Keshav and Jaya. And it is when Jaya decides to leave him, that Keshav takes it on himself to build toilets in the houses, so that it creates a harmonious life for married couples and everyone else.
