Toofaan: Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur starrer finally to release on THIS date

Finally, Farhan Akhtar starrer Toofaan gets a release date. The movie is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 16, 2021.  Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film also stars Paresh Rawal and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles.

Farhan took to his social media handles to share the news with a brand new poster of Toofaan. “With humility, love and in dedication to the fighting spirit of the beautiful people of our nation, our film ‘Toofaan’ will be releasing on July 16th. #ToofaanOnPrime,” he captioned the post.

This is Farhan Akhtar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s second collaboration after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Toofaan’s story revolves around the life of Ajju, an orphan boy born in Mumbai’s Dongri who grows up to be a local goon. His life changes when he meets a bright and compassionate young woman Ananya, whose belief in him motivates him to find his passion as he embarks on his journey to becoming Aziz Ali, a national-level boxing champion. It is a story about resilience, passion, and perseverance.

Apart from Farhan Akhtar, Mrunal Thakur, and Paresh Rawal, Toofaan also stars Supriya Pathak Kapur, Hussain Dalal, Dr. Mohan Agashe, Darshan Kumaar, and Vijay Raaz.

The film was supposed to release on May 21 on Amazon Prime Video. But, the makers decided to postpone its release date due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
