Here’s the truth behind Pankhuri Awasthy quitting ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’

‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ is one of the most longest-running shows on television. Pankhuri Awasthy who has been part of the show has left the show recently. The actress says that she cannot connect with character anymore and hence it made sense to end the track there.

According to a report by Times of India, she said, “It was a short and sweet journey. ‘YRKKH’ was offered to me around the same time when I was auditioning for a film. Initially, my track was scheduled for three months and I took it up, as it would have been completed by the time I had to shoot for the film. However, my role was extended owing to the ratings.”

She added, “My track was shaping up well. However, it slipped towards the end and I just couldn’t relate to it. Besides, the ratings after my re-entry (after the break when she was shooting for the film) didn’t match up. Though the character had an edge, it became redundant. Since it made no sense to leave the show abruptly, I continued doing it.”

Pankhuri was part of ‘YRKKH’ since June 2019 and she played the role of Vedika that was a negative role, she said she got a lot of flak from the viewers on her social media handles. But, she did not mind it, because she got to explore a lot of shades while playing the part.
