We all know that ‘Udta Punjab’ has hit the screens in India after a lot of struggle. CBFC had asked for 89 cuts and later Bombay High Court had passed the film with just one cut. However, now the film is facing issue in Pakistan.
In an entertainment web portal, it has been reported that according to the chairman of Censor Board Sindh, Fakhr-Alam, they have asked the distributor to delete a few scenes because of the abusive language. Reportedly, the law and censor code does not allow the extreme amount of abusive language.
Once the asked scenes are removed, they will review and certify the film. Till then, the Shahid Kapoor starrer won’t release in the neighbouring country.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the film also stars Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. It is doing a very good business at the box office.
