Here is a good news for the ‘Udta Punjab‘ makers as well as every movie-goer who has been eagerly waiting for the court’s decision to finally clear the movie for release.

When the case went to Justice SC Dharmadhikari, he had some valid points to ask the Censor Board in favour of the film. He first questioned the Censor Board, “Has drug menace never been portrayed on celluloid? Some may be crude, while some may be artistic. How does this signboard insult anyone?”

Further more, he argued, “If Goa can be shown as a place of drug abuse in that film, what is wrong if Punjab is shown in Udta Punjab?”

He has also asked the Censor Board that the court sees no logic in removing references to places in the particular state such as Chandigarh, Amritsar, Tarantaran, Jashanpura, Moga and Ludhiana.

While the matter is deferred till today, Ekta Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap and Abhishek Chaubey along with the cast of the film, Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh may finally take a sigh of relief. They are sure on the verge of victory here.
