Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, which was released on 11th January, still continues its strong run at the box office. The film has so far earned over Rs. 220 crores. Now, adding another feather to its cap, ‘Uri’ has grabbed the fourth position on the list of IMDb’s top rated Indian movies. With a rating of 8.6, it is now only behind Hindi film ‘Anand’ (8.7), Malayalam film ‘Drishyam’ (8.6) and Tamil film ‘Nayakan’ (8.6).

It is to be noted that the war film, headlined by Vicky Kaushal, has left behind some of the popular Hindi films of our times including ‘Black Friday’, ‘AndhaDhun’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Black’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Queen’, etc.

‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ is based on the September 2016 Surgical Strikes conducted by the Indian Army against terror launchpads in Pakistan across the Line of Control in Kashmir, in retaliation to the terrorist attack on an Army camp in Uri earlier that month.

Also, ‘How’s the Josh? High Sir!’ – this particular dialogue from the film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ has now become a trademark. The film, written and directed by debutant Aditya Dhar, also stars Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari, Mohit Raina and Rajit Kapur in significant roles, among others. It is financed by Ronnie Screwvala under the film production banner of RSVP Movies.

Importantly, Vicky Kaushal has had a bumper 2018 with supporting roles in ‘Raazi’ and ‘Sanju’. But with ‘Uri’, he has proved his mettle and showed that he can carry the film on his own shoulders as a solo actor.
