Vaani Kapoor: Aditya Chopra made me wait for my second project

After her debut film ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ (2013), it was a long hiatus for Vaani Kapoor. The actress now awaits the release of her second film ‘Befikre’ opposite Ranveer Singh. The two recently unveiled ‘You and Me’, a song from the film in Mumbai. Vaani, when quizzed about such a long break, said she was made to wait by Aditya Chopra.

“This gap is due to Adi Chopra. He made me wait. I did not know what I will get next but I was genuinely waiting for something good, so that I could go ahead with it. He assured me that if I wait, there would be something good coming my way. He said let us wait for a project that will be apt for you as a second project. He took three years to finalise and make the film and that is why it got late,” she said.

‘Befikre’ is quite a shift from the usual genre of romance YRF films feature, and for Vaani, it might shape or spoil her career. The actress is already receiving a lot of flak for her new look, after she went under the knives.

‘Befikre’ releases on December 9.
