Vaani Kapoor is one of the most talented actresses and she is lately with Akshay Kumar in the latest movie Bell Bottom. But Vaani has not had quite the smooth rides in Bollywood. Just like most outsiders and self-made actors, Vaani has seen her share of struggles and even after being launched by a production house like Yash Raj Films, the actress said in an exclusive conversation with us that she has waited very patiently for the work that she likes to come her way and the fact that she is not from an action background has made a difference.

Vaani told Bollywood Bubble, “I can pine and wine and wallow about the opportunities that could have come my way and they didn’t because I am an outsider or I can just look at the brighter side and be grateful that a production house like a Yash Raj Films did give me my first break and I feel for me that are super ethical and morally correct people to work with. As a girl I moved to a different city-Mumbai. I have never been there, my parents dont come here. For them to have that trust that I am with the right people working with the right people that was very important. A lot of people might think that ‘Vaani is so lucky she started off with a Yash Raj Films look at us.’ There is no end to looking at the brighter side or wanting more. We all have our fair share of struggles and a fair share of wobbly roads in our journey in the industry, but you try to make the most of what comes your way and I am trying to do that.”

Talking about battling her lows, Vaani said, “I feel like my struggles and my pain, it’s mine and I deal with it pretty well. I am a very introverted person that way like I dont open up much. Everybody had struggles and I don’t like to wallow and dwell on it too much. Because I feel like that are people who have seen far more and deal with far more; there are people who are so talented and attractive to look at and sometimes they have to wait for a lifetime for opportunities to knock at their door. Whenever I have a bad day I just speak it out to my friends. I just let it out and let it go and focus on the brighter side. I have had to show a lot of patience, to be honest, I have had to be very patient with the kind of work that has come my way. Even if you see there have been big gaps and lull periods. It’s not that I wasn’t getting films, I was getting a lot of work and was getting films but I didn’t see myself seeing part of those films. It was a gap that I was willing to wait it out. I took the harder way and I took the path where not knowing what the future holds. I just chose to wait it out and be patient until I got something that got me excited as an actor to be part of.”

Talking about being written off by the people who called her a star at one point and dealing with the negatives, Vaani said, “I dont take myself as a star so I have nothing to feel hurt about. I dont think that is why am I not getting the respect I deserve. No, it will eventually come. The funny thing is everybody in our country becomes a star very quickly. One day you will be written off and the next day the same people will call you a star. Every Friday your destiny is changing, by every film your perception changes and the notion of your career graph and success changes.”
