Vaani Kapoor will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in Shamshera. She is playing Sona in the film. Ever since the trailer dropped, people have been comparing Vaani’s character to Katrina Kaif’s role in Thugs of Hindostan. Now, in a recent interview with India Forums, Vaani reacted to being compared to Katrina.
The actress said, “No, because there’s only so much that you’ve in a trailer. One must perceive way more than one can understand from the trailer or the song that has come out. But there’s an entirely different arc for my character.”
Vaani added, “I can say with conviction that it’s a very different film. I’ve seen Thugs of Hindostan, and I’ve worked on my film, and there’s no comparison.”

The actress then asked people to compare her to Katrina’s beauty. She said, “She is a wonder actor, dancer, everything, and I’m glad. If you’re comparing me, please compare me to her beauty. I would be very happy. But I know that my part is written in a different way and the subject in the film is very different from that one.”
Apart from Vaani and Ranbir, Shamshera also stars Sanjay Dutt. The Shamshera team have been busy promoting the film. Shamshera is slated to release on 22nd July.
Earlier, Vaani had opened up about working with Ranbir in Shamshera. She told ANI, “I genuinely have so much respect for him, for the actor he is. You know, he’s one of those non-egoistical co-actors who have absolutely no ego, no star-like behaviour. So normal and down to earth, very humble, approachable… very normal. You don’t feel there is stardom attached to the person because he conducts himself very nicely. I think I have a lot of respect for the way he is and of course, I love his performances and I love watching his movies.”
