Varun Dhawan was not on talking terms with Janhvi Kapoor during Bawaal shoot? Here’s why

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen onscreen together for the first time in Bawaal. The actors are currently busy promoting the film. During a recent interview, Varun got candid as he revealed that he didn’t talk to Janhvi Kapoor for the first month of their upcoming movie Bawaal directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Surprising, isn’t it?

Varun reveals why he was not talking to Janhvi

Varun further made it clear that he didn’t talk to Janhvi on purpose. He added that she took it personally. Speaking with Galatta Plus, Varun revealed, “Initially, at least for the first month we went on set, I tried this thing where I said I won’t communicate with her much. Because I felt we’ll become friends like this. I said let me not, and let me be a little aloof, a little cold. I’ll talk to everyone else but her, and purposely. I felt it might evoke something in her and something in me when we were doing scenes of that nature. Nitesh sir was on this.”

The actor went on to add, “I told her after 20 days. Then she realised it, otherwise she took it personally. See, I did it selfishly but I think it helped both of us at that time. Actually, in the film, how gradually the couple got to know each other, we also got to know each other gradually, which was interesting.”

Varun and Janhvi share a great friendship.

Varun and Janhvi starrer Bawaal trailer was released a few days ago. Fans loved Varun and Janhvi’s chemistry. Post the trailer release, Bawaal makers treated fans with the first song titled Tumhe Kitna Pyaar Karte.

Bawaal releases on July 21 on Amazon Prime Video.
