Varun Dhawan recently expressed his disappointment over theatres being shut in Maharashtra. Theatres in Maharashtra have been ordered to still be shut whereas most other states have eased out on the restrictions. Varun took to his Instagram account and shared a video in which you can see a busy street of the Bandra neighbourhood in Mumbai. Varun was stuck in the middle of a dense traffic jam and the street was bustling with people and chaos.

Talking about the restrictions in the state, the Maharashtra government had allowed shopping malls to open earlier this month and operate as per the new guidelines. Apart from that, yoga centres, spas, salons and gyms had also been allowed to operate with 50% capacity and without the use of air conditioning. But, while most places and outlets have seen an ease in the restrictions, multiplexes, theatres and cinema halls have not been allowed to open as yet.
Multiplex chain PVR Cinemas had opened up in other states from July 30, after following the new guidelines. States such as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have also been allowed to reopen cinemas. The Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor starrer Bell Bottom had become the first mainstream Hindi movie to release in theatres post the second wave of Covid-19.
