In a recent interview to a daily, ‘Dishoom’ actor Varun Dhawan spoke about the popularity of Hindi movies in Pakistan. The actor met a 65-year-old Pakistani gentleman and instantly struck a chord with him. The man drove him around, and told him that he was very fond of the late singer, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He even played the famous song of Pankaj Udhas, ‘Chitti Aayi Hai’.
Here’s what Varun said, “The gentleman was so affable and gregarious that it never looked for a moment that there is acrimony and distrust between India and Pakistan. He was in his element talking about music and food and cultures of both the countries. He used to be happy taking me to the best eateries so that I could relish chicken dishes.”
Varun has shown a keen interest in visiting the neighbouring country whenever he gets some time off from his busy schedule.
