Is Varun Dhawan teaming up with Shashank Khaitan for an action thriller?

Bollywood star Varun Dhawan’s life is going through a wonderful phase as the ‘Badlapur’ star is showing no signs of slowing down. Now, the buzz is that Varun would again be joining hands with his ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ director Shashank Khaitan for an action thriller.

There were reports of Varun and Shashank doing a project called ‘Rannbhoomi’. But the project is said to have been pushed on to a later date. “This one will be an action packed film on the lines of Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible’ series. In fact, the plan is to spin a franchise. It will be shot in India as well as abroad and is expected to go on the floors towards the middle of next year,” a source was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.

Varun Dhawan’s last theatrical release ‘Sui Dhaaga’, also starring Anushka Sharma, was subdued in its box office collection as compared to his earlier films like ‘Judwaa 2’. The action genre is not new for Dhawan as he has already done films like ‘Badlapur’ and ‘Dishoom’. The prospect of Varun and Shashank working together seems mouthwatering as the duo are known to push boundaries and are not afraid to try new things.
