Varun Dhawan Shah Rukh Khan's 'Darr'

Actor Varun Dhawan says he would love to remake superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic films “Darr” and “Baazigar”.

Varun was the assistant director in filmmaker Karan Johar’s “My Name is Khan” starring Shah Rukh, and will now be seen sharing screen space with the actor in “Dilwale”.

When asked which movie of Shah Rukh he would love to remake, the 28-year-old actor said, “There are two actually which I really want to do, may be later, I don’t know if I can or not, but ‘Darr’ and ‘Baazigar’.”

“This always happens to me, whenever I do a lot of happy films, happy things, my mood turns a little bit towards revenge (referring to the revenge angle in ‘Darr’ and ‘Baazigar’),” he said.

Varun was speaking at the launch of a song from his upcoming film “Dilwale”.

The “Manwa Emosan Jaage” number features Varun dancing in hip-hop style with actress Kriti Sanon.

The 25-year-old Kriti, who made her debut opposite Tiger Shroff, said she was nervous to shake a leg with the “ABCD 2” star.

“Coming from Tiger to Varun, I think I am being trained. I am getting to work with actors who are excellent dancers. I was a little nervous considering the fact that he was coming after ‘ABCD 2’, I had seen it and he danced like a professional.

“And of course Remo D’Souza choreographing it, so there was a little nervousness, but when we started rehearsing it went fine. You really have to push yourself to be that energetic because he is always jumping,” she said.

Varun was also nervous about the number and said his entry in the song – standing on top of a monster truck – was director Rohit Shetty’s idea.

“I’ve seen this song for the first time. I was nervous.

When I saw the song I was quite happy. This is my thirteenth song with Remo and 11 for us together this year.

“My favourite car is that monster truck, making an entry on top of it was Rohit Shetty’s idea and I think I am the only hero in the history of Indian cinema to make an entry on a monster truck,” he said.

“Dilwale” is scheduled to release on December 18.
