Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan to team up for ‘Coolie No.1’ remake?

Filmmaker David Dhawan known for churning out hit comedy’s, after the super success of his recent flick ‘Judwaa 2’ wishes to remake one of his biggest hits, ‘Coolie.No.1’ that had actor Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the leading roles. Dhawan senior aims to make the film with his son Varun Dhawan and ‘Simmba’ actress Sara Ali Khan.

Sara who is riding high with the success of her debut film ‘Kedarnath’ and recent action dhamaka ‘Simmba’ is the leading contender to play the female lead. The reason being that her chirpy and bubbly energy will be a perfect match for Varun Dhawan’s dynamic energy.

Not many know Sara Ali Khan had confessed on Karan Johar’s popular show that she would love to do a film with Varun Dhawan. If the reports come true then Sara’s dream of working with Varun will true.

On the work front, Varun Dhawan is busy with the shoot of period drama ‘Kalank’, the movie also features Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. The actor also has Remo D’Souza’s dance film in his kitty. Initially, Varun was to share screen space Katrina Kaif but the Diva due to date issues has walked out and is replaced by Shraddha Kapoor.

The ‘Sui Dhaaga’ star also has Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Rannbhoomi’ in his kitty.

For the uninitiated ‘Coolie. No. 1’ is considered a cult comedy with Karisma Kapoor and Govinda. In the film, Karisma’s father gets her married off to a porter (coolie), under the assumption that he is a wealthy person. What happens next is a laugh riot. Kader Khan who passed away recently was also a part of the film.
