Amrit Pal

Veteran actor Amrit Pal, who was well-known for portraying negative roles in the 80s and 90s, passed away on Monday evening, in Mumbai. The actor was 76 when he breathed his last at his residence in Malad. He had been suffering from liver cirrhosis and was bedridden for the past few months. His daughter Geeta Kaur confirmed the same with The Indian Express.

She said, “He was suffering from liver cirrhosis from a long time, and was bedridden. That’s also why he was out of work. Some people from the industry had come for his funeral, but I don’t know who they were, I don’t even know their names. He was 76-year-old. We had lost our mother a long time back.”

The late actor had acted in more than 100 movies, and had started off his career with the 1986 movie ‘Jaal’, which also starred Jeetendra, Sridevi and Vinod Mehra in the lead roles.

Amrit Pal had also earned praises for his role in ‘Pyar Ke Do Pal’ which starred Mithun Chakraborty and Poonam Dhillon in lead roles.
