Veteran actor-director Mangal Dhillon is no more. The veteran actor passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was admitted to a Ludhiana hospital where he breathed his last. Reportedly, he was undergoing treatment for the last one month. On Sunday morning, his health detorirated and he passed away. He passed away just a week before his birthday i.e. June 18.

Fans offered their condolences. Reacting to the sad news, a fan commented, “This is very sad. I remember watching the detective series Panther and sir was the main lead in that series. RIP.” Another fan wrote, “Om Shanti.” “One of the stars of doordarshan in 90s… May his soul rest in peace,” wrote a fan. Alia Bhatt’s mother, actor Soni Razdan expressed her shock. She commented, “OMG NOOOO How sad. Such a wonderful actor and co star.”

The veteran actor-director was born in a Sikh family in Faridkot district of Punjab. He completed his schooling in Panj Graayin Kalan Government school. Mangal Dhillon graduated from Zila Parishad high school in Nighasan, Lakhimpur Kheri district.
He made his acting debut in 1986 with the TV show Katha Sagar. The veteran actor later went on to appear in the TV show Buniyaad. He was a part of many TV shows including Junoon, Kismat, The Great Maratha, Panther, Ghutan, Maulana Azad, Mujrim Hazir, Yug, Noorjahan, and Sahil among others.
On the other hand, he also appeared in films. He has acted in many films including Khoon Bhari Maang, Dayavan, Zakhmi Aurat, Kahan Hai Kanoon, Naaka Bandi, Amba, Akayla, Janasheen, and Dalaal among others. He was also seen in Toofan Singh as Lakha.
