Veteran actor and popular talk show host, Tabassum Govil, also known as Baby Tabassum is no more. Tabassum passed away at the age of 78. According to India.com, Tabassum died due to cardiac arrest. The veteran actor started her career as child actor Baby Tabassum in 1947. She later had a TV career as the host of the talk show, Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan.
Tabassum made her acting debut as a child actor with Nargis. The veteran actor was later seen in Mera Suhaag, Manjhdhar, Bari Behen, Deedar, Baiju Bawra. She also worked in the popular film Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon. The actor also appeared in the song ‘Aji qibla mohtarma’.
In 1985, Tabassum directed, produced and wrote her first film, Tum Par Hum Qurban. She returned to TV with the show Pyaar Ke Do Naam: Ek Raadha, Ek Shyaam. She was also seen as a judge on the stand-up comedy show, Ladies Special.

Last year, rumours of her death took the social media by storm. The veteran actor later rubbished the rumours. She had shared a picture of a fake article about her death along with the caption, “Aapki shubhkamnaon ki wajah se main bilkul theek hoon, tandurust hoon aur apne parivaar ke saath hoon. Ye jo rumour phail rahi hai mere baare mein woh bilkul ghalat hai, aur main yeh dua karti hoon ke aap sab bhi apne ghar mein safe rahein (I’m fine, healthy and with my family because of your good wishes. The rumour that is going on about me is absolutely false. I pray that all of you stay safe inside your homes)”
Fans of the veteran actor are mourning her demise. A prayer meeting will be held on 21st Nov at Arya Samaj at Linking Road, Santacruz.
