Veteran Bollywood actress Shakila breathed her last on Wednesday in Mumbai. She suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of 82. Nassir Khan, Bollywood actor and her nephew, shared the news on social media.
On Twitter he updated, “my maternal aunt (my moms older sister) Shakila Aunty passed away. She was a star in her own right in the 50’s n 60’s. Babuji dheere chalna.” [sic]

On Facebook he wrote a long post that read, “With a heavy heart i have 2 inform u all dat my maternal aunt (my moms older sister) Shakila Aunty has passed away. She was a star in her own right in the 50’s n 60’s. Babuji dheere chalna, pyaar mein zara samhalna…Please keep her in ur prayers. May Allah grant her Jannat. Aameen.” [sic]
Shakila appeared in several films like ‘Shriman Satyawadi’, ‘China Town’, ‘Post Box 999’, ‘Dastaan’, ‘Sindbad the Sailor’, ‘Rajrani Damyanti’, ‘Aagosh’, ‘Shahenshah’, ‘Raj Mahal’, ‘Armaan’ and many more. Some of the iconic songs like ‘Babuji Dheere Chalna,’ ‘Ae Mere Dil Hai Nadaan’, ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ and many others were pictured on her.
