Renowned Punjabi singer Sardool Sikander breathed his last on February 24 in Mohali. The 60-year-old singer was keeping unwell for the last few months. He reportedly died due to kidney damage and multi-organism failure. He was recently diagnosed with Covid 19.

Several B-town celebs like Kapil Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Harshdeep Kaur, Daler Mehndi, Guru Randhawa, Gurdas Maan took to their social media handles to pay a heartfelt tribute to the legendary singer.

Expressing his sorrow over Sikander’s demise, Diljit wrote, “Oh Waheguru. RIP#SardoolSikander  Bhaji. Punjabi Music di shaan.”

“Bade dukh Di khabar Sardool Sikandar saheb nahi rahe big loss our family and music Industry,” tweeted Daler Mehndi

Vishal Dadlani tweeted, I can’t believe #SardoolSikander -Saab has left us. This is heartbreaking and far too personal. 🙁 A true pioneer, he was the soul of humility & a wellspring of music. My condolences to the family, esp. to my brothers  @AlaapSikander & @SarangSikander1(sic).”

Kapil Sharma recalled how Sikander had attended his daughter’s first Lohri celebration. Mourning the demise of the legendary singer, the comedian tweeted, “This is very sad news. I was blessed that he visited my house for the first time on the occasion of my daughter’s first Lohri. Had no idea that it would be the last time. You will be remembered forever(sic).”

Guru Randhawa also offered condolences. “RIP sir Sardool Sikander. Legend,” he tweeted.

Similarly, several other celebs like Jazzy B, Gurdas Maan and Harshdeep Kaur condoled the death of the veteran singer.

‘Sanu Ishq Barandi Chad Gayi’ and ‘Ek Charkha Gali De Vich’ are some of the popular songs crooned by Sikander. He had even acted in a few Punjabi films.
