Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal has grown leaps and bounds over the last few years. 2018 was a breakthrough year for Vicky as his films ‘Raazi’ and ‘Sanju’ turned out to be quite successful. Vicky has impressed critics and audiences alike with his acting range and talent. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Vicky Kaushal talked about his upcoming film ‘Uri’ and what challenges he faced to play the role of an Army officer.
‘Uri’ is based on the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army on Pakistan base camp in 2016. This was in retaliation to 19 Indian soldiers getting killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri. For this film, Vicky had to gain around 15 kgs to look like an Army officer.
Vicky Kaushal had a tough task to change his physique and talking about the struggle he shared, “It was very difficult for us to get into the skin of the character, I didn’t want only to dress up like an Army Officer. To bring that command in my attitude, it was the necessity to bulk up with the body size. But unfortunately, I have a very beautiful problem i.e I can’t put on weight very easily. Even if I eat Burger, Pizza and several other junk food I don’t gain weight faster.”
The ‘Sanju’ actor further added, “For this film, I underwent rigorous training to bulk up, for over the period of 7-8 months. We followed a set diet and workout regime. Then eventually I gained weight for about 15 kg. But gaining the weight was not as difficult as compared to the military training.”
